Learn from Ron Jr.'s Experience
In 1991, while I was working as an assistant golf professional and having some success playing mini-tour golf, a group of interested members from the club where I was working offered to help finance my opportunity to pursue the dream of playing the PGA Tour. They asked me what kind of funding I thought I needed to take "my shot."

The number I arrived at turned out to be low. However, throughout the course of the next 20 years, I was able to add to it with some on-course success. By leveraging the funds those generous members provided, I was able to play competitive golf across the globe. Throughout those 20 years, I was a member of the Nationwide Tour, the Tour de Las Americas, the Canadian Tour, the Australian Tour, and played in 20 PGA Tour events that included 8 majors. I've had a great adventure and a great learning experience.

During the same period, I had the privilege and benefit of working as golf instructor and club professional. This experience allowed me to work with numerous other professional golf instructors, including my father and partner, Ron Philo, Sr. Most significantly, I had the opportunity to participate at the front end in the planning of my sister, LPGA Tour star Laura Diaz.

By applying the lessons I learned from taking "my shot," Laura's career planning was better and her success was much greater. Don't get me wrong, she earned everything she has accomplished through discipline and hard work, but she got off on the right foot. Laura began her career with a plan that helped focus her efforts and maximize her potential. She took full advantage of it!

Helping you plan to maximize your potential for success is the goal of my Player Development and Planning Service. Helping you focus your efforts to prevent you from wasting valuable time and money pursuing professional golf as something other than a legitimate CAREER choice is the mission.
